Morning Star Community Services (MSCS) a 501(c)3 non-profit organization was established in 1997 as a collective response to changes and needs in the Clairton, PA community. It is an outgrowth of the Morning Star Baptist Church of Clairton, a longstanding faith center in the community for over 100 years. MSCS serves Clairton and surrounding communities with services and programs that food assistance, health and wellness, education, job skills support and recreational needs.
Bring to reality a better overall quality of life for residents of our community at large through direct serve, support, and collaborative efforts with other organizations. The purpose is to improve the spiritual, cultural, educational, social, health and wellness outcomes of our community.
Morning Star Community Services mission is to build healthier families and individuals through positive relationships, programs and collaborations. We do this by focusing on five fundamental strategies:
Supporting the needs of distressed children and families impacted by economic challenges.
Connecting and educating the community with supportive healthcare and human services.
Providing food outreach services throughout the community to assist families and individuals supplement food availability and provide more healthy eating.
Providing educational programs and services that enhance the growth and possibilities of children and adults.
Sponsor events, programs and recreational activities that provide safe, wholesome, vibrant experiences to the community which help address the lack of positive outlets particularly for the youth.
